Die Cutting Machine & Construction Set
Senior thesis project focused on motivating youths toward science and engineering through constructive play. This project culminated in the design of a die cutting machine and modular construction toy system. Clear side panels expose gears to show users the mechanism in action.
The die-cutting bed collapses to allow for easy transport and storage. his machine allows children to transform recycled corrugated cardboard into components for a construction toy.
This system is intended to be used in elementary schools with supplemental lesson plans to utilize the construction of bridges from the cardboard components. The machine allows for widespread accessibility as the only consumable is cardboard which returns to the recycling bin at its end of life.
